About The Choir
The choir was formed in 1997. It has been successful due to the philosophy of being open to all comers. There are no auditions and reading music is not a requirement for membership. The choir sings secular music including light, popular and folk songs. Most songs are sung in unison with part singing limited to men and women's parts. Heather Mitchell-Gladstone QSM is the conductor and musical director for the choir. She accompanies the choir on piano accordion. The choir performs for community events such as Packe Street Park Carols, busking at The Christchurch Art Centre, and other social events enjoyed by the choir.
